Mike Bonheim, Vice President, Integrated Commercial Intrusion Detection Systems
Secure Mission Solutions Vice President and Program Manager Mike Bonheim leads the management and deployment of the company’s Integrated Commercial Intrusion Detection System IV (ICIDS-IV) program providing highly secured, standardized intrusion detection systems to our Nation’s military bases.
Since joining the company in 2007, Mike’s leadership and insight in critical asset protection have assisted Secure Mission Solutions to become a leading provider of electronic intrusion detection security.
Mike has more than 25 years of experience as an acquisition manager leading large organizations in program, contracting and logistics management.
As an Army officer and prior to joining Secure Mission Solutions, Mike was Project Director at the Program Executive Office Soldier in Fort Belvoir, Va. In this position, Mike managed the most successful, largest soldier equipping program, Rapid Fielding Initiative (RFI), since WWII - over 900,000 soldiers equipped with lethality, survivability, and mobility equipment in record time.
From 2004-2005 Mike served at the Pentagon as Director of Procurement Policy – Iraq and Afghanistan, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army. After that assignment, Mike was the principal liaison with the Office of the Secretary of Defense and State Department in coordinating supporting the $12.4 billion reconstruction of Iraq, while managing a diverse team of acquisition professionals that developed and coordinated procurement policy, media and congressional responses. Prior to his assignment in the Pentagon, COL Bonheim served with Central Command (CENTCOM) in Saudi Arabia and Baghdad, Iraq as the Host Nation Support Officer and Principal Assistant for Contracting, Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA), responsible for the reconstruction effort in Iraq.
Mike holds a master’s degree in National Resource Strategy from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces as well as a master’s in Management, Acquisition and Contracting, from the Naval Post Graduate School.
On his free time, Mike can be found enjoying time with his wife for a walk on the beach, working around the home, or playing a round of golf.
